Gregory inspected a 2600 square foot house in Durham. He is very methodical in his inspection, going beyond the basics required by North Carolina licensing, and he is happy to explain his observations in person as he performs the inspection. I walked through the house with Gregory as he performed the inspection, and he covered every part in detail. Some relevant samples from his findings: multiple places with rot on the siding, polybutylene pipes, water lines and animal droppings in the crawlspace, joints needing repair on the roof, settling of the brick patio, non-functioning GFCI outlets, and windows that would not stay open without a prop.
The full 36-page report included digital pictures to accompany all major observations, and includes much detail beyond the basics requiring repair. The report can be picked up directly from the 1st Choice web site, and can be paid for online, or you can pay by check. Gregory was prompt in making the report available within a few hours of the inspection, and he made a minor edit to the report quickly when requested. Overall I recommend 1st Choice for home inspections in the Triangle area, and I think other customers will find Gregory to be a thorough, professional and personable inspector. Gregory came out and performed the home inspection with clarity and was very thorough. He took the time to explain everything and was very easy to deal with. I had the choice to pay online. I got the inspection report with written details and pictures online as well. He performed a radon test for $125 additional which was optional. I wanted it done. I definitely would recommend him.
